About Barbara Tibbetts

Personal

I began my career as a kindergarten teacher, in Dover, MA. after graduating from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I am the proud mother of three grown children. In 2011 I founded The LOOK Book, a scavenger hunt book series and entered the world of publishing. In 2023 I became involved in sustainability and the environment by creating an event called, "Living and Plying in a Sustainable World." I have happily begun the next chapter of my life by choosing to move to the island of Nantucket full time in 2020. I decided to become a real estate agent with the encouragement of my business partner, Robin Trovato. I am fortunate to have spent 20 years as a summer person prior to taking on this roll in my HAPPY PLACE!

Community Involvement

Living on Nantucket offers a wealth of opportunities for community involvement, through contributing time and expertise to local events. I have been involved with the Nantucket Book Festival and Foundation from the inception as a local author. I am currently a member of the Cultural Council and volunteer for the Nantucket Historical Association at their wonderful family events. I have founded an event called "Living and Playing in a Sustainable World" held locally to bring attention and create conversations around sustainability. This initiative also includes developing events with the Nantucket Cultural & Tourism Association.
