Faced with the necessity of having to market and sell a residential home in Chatham owned by an aging relative, my wife and I interviewed several real estate brokers located on the Cape, including Lisa D'Amato.

We had a sense that the property would sell quickly given the limited listings available. Given our location in Scituate MA, we needed a broker who could assist us in presenting the Chatham home in its most favorable light and advising us locally on the removal of a house-full of furniture, furnishings, tools and miscellaneous personal property.

We were immediately impressed, and soon confirmed that Lisa was the professional we needed. She was (and is) personable and engaging and provided us with an informative and realistic presentation at our first meeting.

She was well prepared with comparable sales and answers to our questions. When asked about the positives the house offered, she named 10 things immediately When asked about the negatives of the house, she named 2 and said one was fixable.

We were very impressed with her professional ethics and honesty. She would not veer from her assessment of the fair market value of the house in order to compete for the listing with another broker who suggested a significantly higher asking price. Lisa stuck to her evaluation based on comparable sales of similar properties and the condition of the house. She explained very convincingly the problems with over pricing.

She knew all the resources in the Chatham area for every issue, and using her name and reputation, vendors appeared literally overnight to deal with compliance issues, minor repairs and clean-out and removal of the house-hold furnishings.

Lisa was available always and continually no matter the day or hour. She understood our anxieties given our distance, and had an answer, and indeed, a solution to every issue.

It's clear that Lisa enjoys what she does, is a "people person" and an exceptional professional.

Lisa was our buyer's agent on a property we recently acquired in Cape Cod. She was extremely professional and she showed a genuine concern for any issues that came up. A quick example, the slider lock was not functioning properly when we did the final walk through. Lisa knew we had to head back home (2 hours away) and we were concerned about the door not being secure. She went home and personally cut two pieces of wood that we could insert into the rails to prevent access. She arrived the next morning with the wood so that we could rest assured. However, she grabbed the wrong piece for one side. So she went back home (45 minutes away) and returned with the proper piece! She has also offered any additional assistance we may need over the upcoming months. She is not a "love 'em and leave 'em" agent!
