"As our realtor, Melinda coordinated the sale of our last house as well as the purchase our new house. As she had previously steered us expertly through the process of purchasing our daughter's house in 2021, we turned to her to act as our buying & selling realtor in our recent house sale & purchase. She was quick to respond to our questions and requests, arranged to visit the our prospective and current houses within hours, and guided us through the difficult process of simultaneously putting our house on the market and bidding for/buying a new house. She was very knowledgeable about the procedures required and well informed as to the state of the real estate market in our area. She assisted us in making a successful application to buy the new house despite there being several other offers and helped us prepare our old house for sale. With her advice, we sold our old house for well over the asking price after just one weekend of open house and purchased our new house at a very favorable price. She gave us excellent advice throughout the processes of selling and buying, and the entire process was smooth and efficient. We recommend Melinda highly as both a buying and selling realtor! "

"I chose Melinda Shumway several years ago for the sale of a house, and the finding of a condominium to replace it in spite of the fact that she was at the time new to the real estate business. I chose her because of her business background, her enthusiasm and especially her calm and professional manner. Selling and buying property can be stressful, and I wished for someone with a good command of herself, pleasant manners, a caring attitude, and a willingness to ask for the assistance of her office manager in case there was anything she had not been exposed to in this new field yet.
My choice of Melinda proved a good one. She helped us sell our house, and also in finding and buying a replacement. She was wonderful in a challenging situation. Years later we went back to her. She was no longer new to real estate, and as wonderful as she was before. My husband, who was much older than I am, was in deteriorating health which made the decision to move to a community where he could receive better care a very necessary one, but also an especially sensitive one. Melinda was once again a great support. She was soothing when my elderly husband needed it. She helped us find a new lawyer when our lawyer passed away. She helped us find someone who helps clean up attics and basements for older people who retire to Senior Communities, and she even drove me to the hospital after one of his surgeries, when I needed him to sign legal work and I had my hands full doing so much alone. She was terrific.
