Riitta has a robust knowledge of lower Fairfield County. She's been a resident for over 25 years. Her Scandinavian sensibility, integrity, discretion, strong work ethic and attention to detail make her a consummate professional who works diligently for her clients to find their dream home. With Riitta's international background, she understands the aspects and needs of relocating. Buying a home is a major life moment, often the largest investment many people will ever make - and the most emotional one. Therefore, Riitta seeks to find out as much as possible about her clients' lifestyle, needs, wishes and criteria first, to understand her clients well, and to help them find the right home in respect of their requirements, lifestyle and budget. Being a certified wellness/lifestyle coach, Riitta further believes in finding a home that wholly represents who you are, as home is where you spend most of your life, draw happiness from, and it's an integral part of your health/wellbeing. Riitta was born, raised and educated in Finland. She worked for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Helsinki, before being transferred to NYC (UN). Working in the field of diplomacy and interacting with people from all over the world prepared her well for the client focused real estate arena and where discretion and integrity, accuracy, responsiveness, negotiation skills and grit, or as she further would like to call it, her Finnish 'sisu', are all valuable credentials. After her first son was born, she and her husband moved to Connecticut and never looked back! They fell in love with all that lower Fairfield County had to offer and its close proximity to New York City. She and her husband raised their two sons through Darien and Greenwich public schools, local private day schools and a CT boarding school. Their sons were involved in town and elite sports programs. Riitta grew up involved in many aspects of real estate through her family's real estate holdings in Turku-Abo area in Finland. She is still actively involved managing her family's historical Empire style manor house built in 1600's on the remnants of the castle destroyed in a battle in 1598 between Duke Charles (Karl), a Protestant and later King Karl IV of Sweden, and his nephew and a devout Catholic, King Sigismund III of Sweden and Poland at the time. She can fully appreciate all architectural and interior styles, from her personal love of airy, modern, simple style to many historical styles, as Baroque, Rococo, Empire, Biedermeier and Gustavian interior style eras are all happily coexisting in the old manor house she grew up in. In her free time Riitta is an avid fitness enthusiast who's competed in snowboarding, loves hitting the gym early in the morning and running at sunrise at Tod's Point, doing yoga, and practicing meditation by the ocean.
