I love working with 1st time home buyers. There is no better feeling than seeing the joy on their face when they close on the house they are about to call home.

Areas Covered

My main area of focus is Hartford County but have traveled anywhere from Granby, to Barkhamstead, to Old Lyme for clients in the past.

Community Involvement

I am currently sitting on the Town Planning & Zoning commission for the Town of Farmington. I currently sit on the JRB (Juvenile Review Board) for the Town of Berlin to assist the Social Services Department keep kids on the right path in life. I have volunteered my time for several years to Project Graduation in Farmington. This is the after-grad party put on by local parents in town to give graduating High School seniors a safe drug and alcohol-free environment to say goodbye to their friends. I have been a proud sponsor of Hartford Portuguese Club and Our Lady of Fatima Church Golf Tournaments. Both of these organizations provide scholarships to college students in need. I am an active member of the FOP (Frateral Order of Police) and assist them during their fundraising campaigns.

Bio

My name is Robert Canto, but my friends know me as Bobby C. Both my parents immigrated here from Portugal when they were 13. I proudly served in the US Coast Guard out of High School, after getting out of the Coast Guard, I came back home to work alongside my father in the family construction company that focused primarily on paving, concrete sidewalks, and roadwork in the Hartford area. In 2005 I was hired by the Berlin Police Department where I worked until retiring in 2020. Due to my law enforcement and military background, I am an effective communicator with people of diverse social and economic backgrounds. I am a focused and methodical leader with the ability to persevere and succeed in high-pressure conditions. I have been in the Real Estate industry for 12 years and am honored to call all my past clients’ friends. I am a lifelong resident of Farmington, Moving there when I was 10 years old. I currently sit on the Town Planning and Zoning Commission. I have been married to my wife Nadine for 28 years and have raised two beautiful independent daughters (Ashley & Julia). Ashley is graduating from Sacred Heart University in May with her master’s in education and is currently a teacher at Bridgeport High School. Julia is currently in her sophomore year at Elon University in North Carolina majoring in History and International Global Studies with the intent of going on to Law School and practicing International Law.
