I contacted William Raveis Real Estate via your website to obtain a valuation analysis and happily for me Alex was assigned to the task. I purchased the house in 2005 and unfortunately due to changes in the market and the location its value had declined substantially. The market analysis prepared by Alex reflected this and while I was not fond of the conclusion I recognized that it was professionally done, soundly reasoned and that the comps were numerous and carefully chosen. Alex and I agreed on an asking price, which with the advantage of hindsight was exactly right.

The house, built in 1910, and the adjacent barn have definite charms that appealed to me but aspects of the house and the location are problematic for the typical buyer. Alex?s persistence, sound judgment and marketing of the property within the local real estate community were crucial to finally finding the right buyer and achieving a price reasonably close to the original asking price.

I needed to complete a number of upgrades ? new oil tanks, hot water heater, and chimney flue ? and a host of repairs with a variety of contractors. Managing this from Vermont was a challenge and Alex?s help in providing access, suggesting reliable contractors, and generally helping me to oversee this process from a distance was truly invaluable.
During this process I came to view Alex not just as a real estate but also as a trusted colleague and friend - one can't hope for more in a business transaction. I will be pleased to give my strongest recommendation for Alex and William Raveis Real Estate in the future.
